A Mic That Plays Nice with AI! GODOX’s Magic XT1 Packs Amazing Specs for ¥15,000

Hi, I’m Hide — tech journalist and part-time house-husband.
It’s amazing that you can get a wireless mic at this price now. And the Magic XT1 has a fresh idea: the receiver charges the transmitters. It’s compact to carry and has big benefits for people beyond videographers.

Super compact, super long-lasting
Wireless mics until now were basically charged in a case. That has the advantage of charging them in the case and taking them along, but you still had to carry accessories like windscreens and clips separately.
The Magic XT1’s receiver doubles as the transmitters’ charger, so you can carry everything, accessories included, really compactly.

Don’t underestimate the features at this price
Honestly, I used to think of GODOX as “cheap and decent quality.” But their recent products have improved dramatically.

I was really impressed that it’s good enough even for pros, but it’s important to understand its features to use it well.
If you just use it without thinking, you won’t get its full performance, so let me cover the key points.
48kHz/24bit audio — set it right for the situation
48kHz/24bit is high quality and totally fine for normal recording. But it can’t do the increasingly popular 32-bit float recording. Know that first.
With 32-bit float recording, you can cleanly recover audio in editing even if it was recorded too loud or too quiet.

In safety mode, the left channel (A) records at -6 dB below your set level, and the right channel (B) records at your set level. If there’s a chance of sudden loud sounds, choose this and you can recover afterward.
Mono mode is fine for most situations, but if you don’t understand these modes you could botch a recording, so it’s worth knowing.
Built-in noise reduction makes café meetings easy to transcribe
This is another thoughtful feature. As far as I know, no other wireless mic has built-in DNR (digital noise reduction).
And you switch between normal recording and noise reduction just by pressing the button on the mic (green light: normal; orange light: noise reduction on).

It also has a low-cut filter, so your words come through clearly even in noisy shops or outdoor interviews. Feed that into AI for transcription and it’s far more accurate than recording on an iPhone — super handy.
Record straight to your computer, no mic jack needed
This is another big strength. The receiver has built-in UAC (USB Audio Class), so just connect it to your computer with a USB cable and the wireless mic audio goes straight in.

The one weakness is that there’s no internal recording. Recent mics tend to store multiple files internally to prevent failures or allow later editing, but personally, I liked the Magic XT1’s no-nonsense approach.

The Magic XT1 basically just records along with your video or straight to your computer, so it’s easy to manage.
I also love that it’s useful beyond video creators.
Of course, for a meeting of about six people, you’d have to point two mics at three people each, which isn’t ideal. But I’m impressed they packed this much into a product at this price.
Business folks might want one too — it could seriously boost your transcription efficiency.
