Dyson-Level Airflow, but This Light?! The Upgraded Dreame Pocket Pro Dries Hair Super Fast Without Tiring Your Arm

Hi, I’m Hide — tech journalist and part-time house-husband. Hair dryers are evolving crazy fast.

Panasonic is trying new things, and overseas brands are locked in an even fiercer development race.

The latest model from Dreame, the Dreame Pocket Pro, is compact and light, yet the airflow is truly Dyson-level. Even comparing drying times, it holds up — I was really surprised.

For my articles, I sometimes receive products on loan or as samples from companies, within the bounds of Yahoo! News’ rules. However, if a product doesn’t meet my standards for writing about it after actually using it, or if its downsides significantly outweigh its good points, I return it and don’t write about it. I don’t receive any payment from companies.

Light, but the airflow is incredible

If you go deep into beauty products, I’m sure there are pricier, higher-quality dryers. But for everyday use, I don’t think there’s another dryer this light with this much airflow — especially at this price.

The size and weight are hard to picture, but the moment I picked it up I thought, “Is this a store display dummy?” That makes you worry about performance — until you switch it on and get blasted with super-strong air.

That gap totally got me.

Three tools in one — love it

With Dyson, for example, there’s a subtle split between dryers for drying and ones for styling, so if you want both, you need to buy two.

The Dreame Pocket Pro, though, comes with attachments for both drying and styling, so it’s three tools in one — great value.

The design is clever too: the head rotates 180 degrees, so you can use it vertically or horizontally. The grip is slimmer than Dyson’s, which I think makes it especially easy for women to use.

I tested it on my older daughter’s hair for a week — just as good as Dyson

As a house-husband, I dry and style my older daughter’s hair every day, so for a week I switched from our Dyson to the Dreame Pocket Pro.
The straightening nozzle seems to pull hair toward the head — feels the same as Dyson’s anti-frizz tool

Bottom line: drying time and everything else were almost identical. I was blown away. Among the attachments, the new volumizing tool is super handy — apparently it won’t be sold separately and only comes with this model. That attachment alone is a reason to recommend it.

## Feature-packed, no weak spots

Two airflow levels and five modes — I love how complete it is. There are two warm modes: Warm at 57°C and Hot at 80°C. Warm mode is excellent — it’s gentle on hair but has plenty of airflow, so it dries thoroughly.

My older daughter has really long hair, but it dried plenty fast on Warm mode. The Cycle mode, which Dyson doesn’t have, is nice for scalp care too.

## So light you can take it anywhere
As I mentioned, it comes with a white bag, which goes nicely with the champagne gold

The lightness made the biggest impression. I’d recommend it to every woman, and it’s great for guys living alone too since it doesn’t take up space. Your girlfriend will definitely appreciate it when she visits!

The body is small and there’s no bulky power adapter, so it doesn’t take up any space. Even the little band for bundling the cable fastens quickly and is really handy, so I’d highly recommend it for travel.

It’s probably miles better than the dryers at most hotels and inns.

This time I was really surprised at how much dryers have evolved. Just like robot vacuums, the dryer market looks like it’s heading into an all-out war.
