A Game-Changer for Phone Stands! Once You Try MOFT, You Won’t Let Go

Hi, I’m Hide — tech journalist and part-time house-husband. I hadn’t used MOFT in a while, and it’s evolved — it’s great.

I’d been using other stands and cases lately, but when I came back, MOFT had evolved in lots of ways, so I want to share them. The 8-in-1 Multi-Function Stand especially is amazing — let’s dive in.

For my articles, I sometimes receive products on loan or as samples from companies, within the bounds of Yahoo! News’ rules. However, if a product doesn’t meet my standards for writing about it after actually using it, or if its downsides significantly outweigh its good points, I return it and don’t write about it. I don’t receive any payment from companies.
The 8-in-1 stand is excellent

The Snap-On stand gives you two angles depending on whether you set it vertical or horizontal, but the 8-in-1 adjusts smoothly to any angle, which is even more comfortable.

Folded, it’s a bit thicker than the Snap-On stand, but the magnet is really strong, so I feel way more confident slipping it into my pocket. It’s so strong it doesn’t even rotate when I take it in and out normally.

The 8-in-1 is packed with new features too: just open the stand to tap your stored card without taking it out, raise it up to 20 cm high, and more.
On the other hand, there are only three colors, and it’s over 30 g heavier than the Snap-On stand. If you don’t use it for shooting and want something simple, the Snap-On stand is the better pick.
The Snap-On stand is light and fashionable

The 8-in-1’s only real downside is that it feels a bit heavy once attached. The Snap-On stand, being so thin, keeps things sleek.
It also works with the Snap battery, so you can use it while charging. The Snap battery attaches via MagSafe, so the 8-in-1 might work too, but due to balance and magnet strength it’s not officially supported. If you want to use it as a battery pack with a stand, go with the Snap-On.
Durable cases in colors Apple doesn’t offer

Like the two stands above, the cases can now be had in a new, highly durable material called MOVAS. Leather-style cases have thin surfaces that tend to fall apart fast, but MOFT developed this new material for much better durability.

It worked fine for me, so if color is your priority, no problem.
MOFT’s stands were always great, but the durability of the leather bothered me. It started peeling after 2–3 years, so I have high hopes for the new MOVAS material.
Being able to set your phone down exactly how you want has a surprisingly big impact on daily life, so it’s worth choosing carefully. I’ve used phone rings and all kinds of stands, and right now MOFT’s 8-in-1 Multi-Function Stand fits me best.
