So Quiet You Won’t Notice!? My Trusty CATLINK Self-Cleaning Litter Box Quietly Got Better

I’ve been using the CATLINK SCOOPER PRO-X self-cleaning litter box for a long time. Since mine was getting old, I replaced it with a brand-new unit of the exact same SCOOPER PRO-X.

Naturally, I figured it’d be identical inside. Then I turned it on and was shocked: “Wait, was it always this quiet?”

The look and name are basically the same, but it’s dramatically quieter, and the inside is now shaped to be easier to clean. Looks like the SCOOPER PRO-X has been quietly evolving without me noticing.

I just bought the same SCOOPER PRO-X again…

What I bought wasn’t a new model or a successor — it was **the same CATLINK SCOOPER PRO-X as before.**

But using it, I found lots of small fixes to things that used to bug me. Here are the differences I could only spot because I’d used the old one for so long.

Super quiet — you won’t notice even late at night

The biggest surprise was the noise. My old unit wasn’t that loud, but this one is so quiet I sometimes wonder, “Is it even running?”

It barely registers even in the middle of the night. Sometimes I only find out my cat used it from the app (lol).

The step mat cuts down on scattered litter

When cats come shooting out, litter tends to come with them. I added the optional step this time, and way less litter ends up on the floor.

It means less cleaning too, so personally I’d get it as a set with the main unit.

A flat interior makes cleaning way easier

The old unit had lots of bumps inside, and cleaning out litter and gunk that got in there was a pain.

The new one is much flatter inside, so wiping it down is so much easier. Even with a self-cleaning box, you still need to clean it regularly, so this is a really welcome upgrade.

The waste-separating mesh got better too

The mesh that separates litter from waste as it rotates has a new shape and doesn’t get dirty as easily.

It’s a tiny change, but these are exactly the things that matter over the long haul.

You’ll still want to seal the gaps

There are still a few small gaps inside where litter might get in. It’s much better than before, but I wanted to seal them.

I used yellow masking tape at first, but figured I might as well go with white.

It turned out so clean you can barely tell it’s there.

## Litter duty is basically handled for you
When your cat uses it, the unit automatically rotates, separates the waste, and drops it into the drawer below. When it fills up, just empty it all at once.

Just not having to scoop every day makes life with a cat so much easier.

The app shows your cat’s “normal”

The app lets you see when your cat used the litter box and how often.

It can’t diagnose illness, but having a record of things like bathroom visits can help you notice when something’s “different from usual.” That’s honestly the biggest benefit of going automatic.

Watch the size and your choice of litter

The downside: the unit is pretty big, and adding the step takes even more space. In a studio apartment, placement could be tricky, and with multiple cats you might want more than one depending on how many and how they use it.

As for litter, picking the cheapest can mean odor issues. Don’t skimp — litter with good odor control and clumping makes life more comfortable.

Once you go automatic, you can’t go back

It takes up space, and you still have to clean it sometimes. But once you get used to it handling everything automatically every time your cat goes, it’s hard to go back.

And this time, just buying the exact same CATLINK SCOOPER PRO-X again got me something quieter, harder to dirty, and easier to clean.

Better for the cat and the humans. Repetitive daily chores like this are exactly what we should hand over to machines.
